CONA Scholarships Award
These two awards are sponsored by CONA and consist of $1,500 and $1,000 in non-repayable monies. Previous recipients may re-apply for these awards. The monetary award is received by the recipient after July 31 of the current year and is formally acknowledged at the National Conference in the following year. The recipient is invited to the President's luncheon.
Eligibility :
- Member for two years prior to application and has demonstrated commitment in the field of Orthopaedic nursing. The applicant demonstrates a high standard of clinical practice in Orthopaedic nursing.
- The applicant demonstrates a minimum of B average in recently completed academic programs (within last 5 years).
- The applicant submits; a resume outlining their experience in Orthopaedic nursing and contributions to CONA, Post-secondary academic transcripts outlining academic background and grades, a letter of acceptance or verification of full-time or part-time enrolment in a recognized program, and information about proposed course of study and relevance of the course to Orthopaedic nursing practice.
- Two letters of recommendation, one from immediate supervisor and one from a nursing professional who has personal knowledge of academic and professional abilities of the applicant are also required by the deadline of May 15 of current year.
Process :
- The Continuing Education Chair and the Board review submissions and recipients will be notified by July 31 of the current year.
- Upon completion of the course of study the recipient shall submit a manuscript suitable for publication in the Orthoscope Newsletter
