Dr. Robert B. Salter Award
This $500 award is sponsored by CONA to award applicants who are endeavouring to do research in the domain of orthopaedic nursing. The award was developed to honour the achievements of Dr. Robert B. Salter and to promote Orthopaedic nursing research. The monetary award and framed certificate are presented at the National Conference. The recipient is invited to the President's luncheon.
Eligibility :
- Member is engaged in nursing practice in the orthopaedic field - including roles in education, administration, direct care, and research.
- Member actively participates in all aspects of the research project-question formulation, proposal development, data gathering, outcome analysis, final write-up and submission for publication. (The applicant must not solely be involved in data collection).
- A description of the research project will be submitted to the Continuing Education Chair. The research will be published in a recognized health care or professional journal when at term. Research done for academic credit will be considered.
- A completed application, a letter outlining how above criteria are met and member's involvement in all aspects of the project, and four copies of the research article for consideration will be received by March 1.
Process :
- A committee selected by the Chair Continuing Education reviews and evaluates submissions and a recommendation is made to the Board. Board reviews and selects recipient.
