Starting A Chapter With CONA

  1. Hold an information meeting and determine if there is enough interest in forming and maintaining a chapter. (Advertise at all different hospitals in your area. Perhaps, speak to your orthopaedic doctors to see where their support lies. Involve your managers in the different orthopaedic units.)
  2. Establish a Board of Directors:
    • President
    • President-elect
    • Secretary Treasurer
    • Membership/Archives
    • Publicity/Education
    • Bylaws/Nominating
  3. The National Membership Chairperson of CONA will acknowledge and send a temporary chapter status notification.
  4. Hold meetings to come every month or two. Encourage an educational component at all meetings. Advertise your meetings.
  5. Documentation of viability (such as minutes of meetings held, educational sessions, attendance, financial status, etc.) is required one month prior to the next National Conference.
  6. The National Board will discuss, approve and introduce you at the Conference.
  7. Pick a name and Logo for your Chapter and send news of happenings of your Chapter to the Communication and Marketing Chairperson to be acknowledged in Orthoscope.
